Women and young people have the numerical strength to change the face of our political make up, different perspectives, ideas and values which have remained unutilized. With this in mind, WAYA was formed as a coalition in the year 2008 to support women and young people seeking to contest political office. The coalition seeks to increase the visibility of women and youths from all corners of Kenya with a view to transformative change through women and young people.

Also, WAYA builds capacity of Kenyan society on the advantages of a democratic culture that seeks the inclusion of both women and young people in leadership and decision making platforms.
